It’s always exciting when two titans of the horror genre come together.
So, that’s why we’re very excited and intrigued to learn that Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele will join forces on a new project.
Entitled Portrait of God, the project will be a feature-length adaption of filmmaker Dylan Clark’s viral short of the same name.
In the short, a religious young woman is preparing a presentation on a piece of artwork. The “Portrait of God” is a controversial painting which appears blank to some, but features the image of the Almighty to others. As the young woman continues to stare at the canvas, something inevitably begins to look back at her… But is it as holy as she thinks?
The feature adaption is currently in the works at Universal, with Peele and Raimi aboard to produce via their respective companies.
Raimi will work alongside Romel Adam for his Ghost House Pictures banner, whilst Peele and Win Rosenfeld are aboard via Monkey Paw Productions.
A script is currently complete, written by Clark and Joe Russo, with production expected to begin on the feature adaption early next year.
