As Adelaide prepares for the highly anticipated return of AFL Gather Round, Rundle Mall is gearing up to transform the city’s most iconic shopping precinct into a HQ of all things footy.
Across five days, Rundle Mall will come to life, offering locals and visitors a place to enjoy all the pre and post-game energy of one of the state’s biggest sporting weekends. With thousands expected to travel to Adelaide, the activation is sure to become a natural meeting point right in the centre of the city.

At the centre of it all is an unmissable installation, a giant inflatable football, this year reimagined in gold. Standing proudly in the middle of the Mall, the statement piece celebrates not just Gather Round, but a major milestone for the precinct, its 50th anniversary.
To celebrate its 50th year, Rundle Mall will be giving away 50 limited-edition gold Sherrin footballs across the weekend. If you’re keen to get your hands on this exclusive prize, you’ll have plenty of chances to win across a series of interactive experiences that have been designed to surprise and engage fans.
The activation will play host to live radio tie-ins with Triple M, roaming trivia, scavenger hunts, trick shot challenges and more. Plus, visitors can try their luck at a claw machine, join in on social media competitions, or simply stumble across a spontaneous activation while exploring the Mall.
Rundle Mall’s AFL Gather Round Fan Hub will also feature DJs, player meet-and-greets, live viewing areas and interactive activities, making sure fans stay connected to the action even when they’re away from the oval.
Adding to the atmosphere, extended trading hours are set for Saturday, April 11th, with CBD businesses staying open until 6pm, giving visitors even more time to explore, shop and dine.
