Wedding Planning

Rooted in shared memories and shaped by years of quiet companionship, this wedding unfolded as a celebration of love that had grown steadily over time. Childhood friends who grew up in the same residential society, the couple’s journey spanned more than a decade before culminating in an intimate, multi-day celebration. Bringing this vision to life was WeddingSutra Favorite – Splendid Surprises Wedding & Events.
With Aarefa Ahmedabadwala and Pramod Manerikar from Splendid Surprises Wedding & Events helming the designing of each event, everything was distinct in mood yet harmoniously connected. “We wanted every function to have its own identity while still feeling part of one continuous story,” shares Aarefa.
The celebrations commenced with the Tilak ceremony, envisioned as a welcoming dinner steeped in deep reds and vibrant oranges. Nazar-inspired elements were thoughtfully incorporated into the décor, adding layers of symbolism to a setting. “The idea was to begin on a note that felt auspicious, bold, and warm,” explains Pramod, reflecting the intention behind the palette and design.
A playful shift followed with the Mehendi, styled as a pink Rajasthani bazaar infused with an element of quirk. Bright hues, market-inspired installations, and nostalgic accents came together to create a cheerful, spirited environment.
As the festivities moved into the evening, the Sangeet embraced a more polished and romantic aesthetic. Soft chandeliers bathed the space in a warm glow, while arrangements of white blooms and moody pillar candles added depth and intimacy. The ambience felt elegant yet inviting, striking a perfect balance between glamour and restraint. In contrast, the Haldi offered a refreshing departure from tradition, reimagined with a polo-inspired theme that felt relaxed and effortlessly stylish.
The wedding ceremony unfolded on a serene lawn, where tradition met thoughtful design. A lotus-shaped mandap formed the centrepiece, complemented by a water fountain placed in front to honour the family’s wish for a sacred water element. The amphitheatre structure was detailed with ‘Om’ and ‘Swastik’ motifs, reinforcing the spiritual significance of the rituals. A classic palette of red, maroon, orange, and gold added richness to the setting, while a deeply emotive wall featuring photographs of married couples from the family stood as a tribute to love across generations. “That detail brought so much meaning to the ceremony; it was a touching, emotional moment for us”, reflects Aarefa.
