An idol and streaming-themed mystery visual novel titled Red Chat Ritual – TSUMIMI TIME Idol Mystery (Tsumimi Jikan Kyo Oshii Hodo Aishiteru) has been announced for Steam. A music video for its theme song “Oshi Oshi Oshi Oshi Oshi Oshi Oshi Oshi Kane Kane Kane Kane Kane Kane Kane Kane,” performed by independent VTuber Kagura Mea, is now out.
The Tohakusha.Inc-developed game will cast players as a viewer who tries to discover what happened to the partner of idol streamer Tsumimi. To achieve this, they will have to comb online spaces like social media and fan sites based on the streams’ “subtle irregularities,” as well as engage with the streams, across a “roughly two-week day-and-night cycle.” When it comes to the livestream interactions, a “single word from you can change her reactions, the information that becomes visible, and what happens next,” and gifts may “trigger an unexpected response in the next day’s stream.”
There will be different endings, and music by vocaloid producer Kikuo (who has released a vocaloid version of the theme song).
Here’s a snippet from Red Chat Ritual – TSUMIMI TIME Idol Mystery‘s Steam page description:
Tsumimi, of the idol unit Wataame Chainsaw, continues streaming in hopes of becoming famous enough for the missing Mashiro to find her.
As a viewer, you intervene in her streams—sometimes altering the course of events, sometimes picking up new information, always connecting the scattered fragments.
Your only leads are a village erased from the map and the faint irregularities caught on stream.
What awaits beyond them…?
Red Chat Ritual – TSUMIMI TIME Idol Mystery will have language support for English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
