The new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise from Rawalpindi has finally put a name to the hype. In a 25-second teaser posted ahead of PSL 11, the team revealed it will officially be called “Pindiz.”
The short clip leans into suspense, using aerial shots of the city, quick-cut visuals, and scattered letters that eventually form the name.
Slogans like “We’re bold” and “We’re changing the game” flash on-screen as the branding positions the franchise as an energetic new entrant ready to shake up the league. The team also hinted that the official logo reveal is next.

According to the team owner, Ahsan Tahir, the name is “simple, clean, and powerful.” The Walee Technologies owner is going for a one word team name that has certainly drawn up mixed reactions online.
Many fans are less forgiving, calling it one of the worst PSL names yet. The backlash quickly turned into meme material, with branding debates and jokes taking over timelines.
Despite the mixed reaction, the franchise enters PSL 11 with serious cricketing firepower. After being bought by Walee Technologies for a record Rs. 2.45 billion (following the rework of the former Multan Sultans slot), the Rawalpindi side inherits a core that includes captain Mohammad Rizwan and Naseem Shah, instantly making them one of the teams to watch in the expanded eight-team PSL season in 2026.
Owner Ahsan Tahir has also been active in building momentum, pushing back on what he described as coordinated “worst name” spam while rallying supporters with #PindiBoy pride and “Get ready, Pindi folks” graphics. With the name now out in the open, all eyes shift to the logo, and whether the next reveal lands cleaner than the first.
