Union Minister and BJP MP Raksha Khadse on Tuesday (November 25, 2025) alleged that workers of the Shiv Sena faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde are intimidating residents in the Muktainagar Assembly constituency in Jalgaon district, highlighting growing friction within the Mahayuti alliance.
“Muktainagar, which was once peaceful, has now become a hub of violence. Crime incidents are rising, and goons are regularly threatening and harassing people. Girls are no longer safe, and women and children live in fear. Even my own daughter has faced harassment due to the unruly behavior of men,” Ms. Khadse told reporters.
“As a mother, daughter, sister, resident, and MP, it is my constitutional duty to raise these concerns,” she added.
The Raver MP, who also serves as Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, claimed that individuals involved in “shady businesses” were being promoted by the Eknath Shinde camp. “They are acting like goons, mounting pressure on people,” she said.
Ms. Khadse pointed out that Muktainagar had traditionally been a BJP stronghold, recalling that her father-in-law, veteran leader Eknath Khadse, had won the seat multiple times. However, in the 2024 Assembly elections, Shiv Sena’s Chandrakant Patil captured the constituency.
Expressing dissatisfaction over seat-sharing for the upcoming Muktainagar Parishad polls, Ms. Khadse said she was forced to set up an independent BJP panel after her demand for allotting half the seats to BJP was rejected.
