Punjab Education Minister has announced that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will begin laptop distribution in another division of the province on Monday. The event will take place in the Gujranwala Division at the University of Gujrat.
The development comes as the provincial government continues to expand the scope of the Chief Minister’s laptop scheme across Punjab. Earlier, the last date for submission of applications under the CM Punjab Laptop Program was extended until February 28, 2026, allowing more eligible students to apply through the official online portal.
The government has also broadened the eligibility criteria by including students enrolled in private universities. Under the revised policy, private university students who have secured at least 65 percent marks can apply for a free laptop under the scheme.
The expansion aims to ensure wider access to digital resources for students in higher education institutions across the province. The laptop distribution ceremonies are being held division by division as part of the ongoing rollout of the program.
