Punjab to Lease Advertising Space at Metro Stations

The Punjab Mass Transit Authority has announced a major step to increase revenue by leasing indoor advertising spaces at metro system stations.

Under this plan, prominent advertising locations at 26 stations of the Orange Line train will be leased to private companies.

According to the authority, bids from interested firms have been invited until April 16. Company representatives have also been invited to attend a meeting to receive details about the bidding process.

The plan divides the 26 stations into two sides, each further categorized separately. For one side, the monthly rent has been set at Rs. 132,000 for Category A, Rs. 108,000 for Category B, and Rs. 90,000 for Category C.

For the other side, the monthly rent is higher, with Category A set at Rs. 455,000, Category B at Rs. 355,000, and Category C at Rs. 260,000.

The authority stated that during the bidding auction, companies will be able to secure leases by offering bids above the base price.

The initiative aims to activate indoor advertising spaces that have remained unused for a long time. Officials say this will help generate additional income, improve the financial resources of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority, and support the development of a stronger urban transport system.
