The Punjab government has announced special arrangements for Basant celebrations in Lahore, including free public transport for residents.
An important meeting on Basant was held in Lahore, where officials discussed safety measures and administrative preparations for the event.
The government decided that buses and rickshaws will operate free of cost across Lahore on February 6, 7, and 8. Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said free transport services would be available for three days to facilitate citizens during the celebrations.
She also said that from December 30, manufacturing related to kites and kite strings will be allowed. According to her, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has directed the formation of a sub-committee to prepare and present a detailed plan regarding Basant arrangements.
