Psyren Anime Announced, Satelight Producing With Symphogear XV Director

The Psyren manga, which released its 16th and final volume back in 2011, is getting a TV anime that will premiere in 2026. A teaser trailer and visual provide an early glimpse of the adaptation, which Katsumi Ono (Symphogear G to Symphogear XV, I Left my A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths!) is directing at SATELIGHT.

Rikuya Yasuda is protagonist Ageha Yoshina. Mayuko Kazama plays his friend Sakurako Amamiya, whose disappearance may be related to a secret organization called Psyren. 

Handling the series composition is Shin Yoshida (Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima), while Akira Okuma is the character designer. Takashi Ohmama (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury)) Tatsuhiko Saiki (Aquarion: Myth of Emotions), and Shu Kanematsu (Aquarion: Myth of Emotions) are composing the music.

It was also confirmed that the anime will be streamed globally, with details to arrive later.

The Psyren manga by Toshiaki Iwashiro (who shared an illustration for the anime’s announcement) started in 2007 in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump. It ranked 10th in the Manga We Want to See Animated 2024 poll. Viz Media describes the synopsis as such:

“Save me!” Those were Sakurako Amamiya’s last words to her friend Ageha Yoshina before she mysteriously went missing. Now Ageha’s on a quest to find her. He’s convinced that the mythical Psyren Secret Society has something to do with the recent rash of disappearances. And now he seems to be caught up as a player in their very deadly game…
