The Pakistan Super League’s newest franchise from Sialkot has shortlisted five possible team names ahead of the upcoming PSL 11 season.
According to sources, the names being considered are Falcons, Stallions, Shaheen, Thunders, and Sixers. The franchise is currently reviewing branding and identity options, with the official team name and logo expected to be announced soon.
Explaining the approach, the franchise owner said branding decisions will not be handled internally. Instead, experienced professionals are being hired to develop an identity that reflects both Sialkot’s rich cricketing heritage and the league’s modern image.
The Sialkot franchise was officially confirmed as the PSL’s eighth team after the Pakistan Cricket Board awarded ownership rights to OZ Developers, owned by Hamza Majeed, during a high-profile auction at the Jinnah Convention Centre.
With the introduction of new franchises, the PSL has expanded from six to eight teams, with the tournament scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.
Looking ahead to squad building, Kamil Khan, a co-owner of the Sialkot franchise, said earlier that the team aims to assemble a competitive lineup by targeting leading overseas players while also establishing a strong domestic support structure.
