PSL 2026: Islamabad United Thrash Lahore Qalandars by Nine Wickets as Devon Conway Stays Unbeaten

Islamabad United delivered one of the most commanding performances of the Pakistan Super League 2026 season so far, crushing Lahore Qalandars by nine wickets in the 16th match at the National Stadium in Karachi on April 9. Lahore were bundled out for just 100 in 18.3 overs before United raced to 104 for 1 in only 10.2 overs, wrapping up the chase with 58 balls to spare.

The result was built on a sharp bowling display from Islamabad United, with Chris Green leading the way with 3 for 19. Imad Wasim and Richard Gleeson also made key contributions with two wickets each as Lahore never really recovered after losing early momentum. Sikandar Raza top-scored for Lahore with 25, but the Qalandars struggled to put together a meaningful partnership and never looked in control of the innings.

In reply, Devon Conway made sure there would be no drama. The left-hander struck an unbeaten 59, while Mohammad Faiq added 34 not out as Islamabad’s chase moved swiftly and with very little risk. Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed the only wicket to fall, but Lahore had nowhere near enough runs on the board to put United under pressure.

It was a statement win from Islamabad United, who looked far more settled with both ball and bat, while Lahore Qalandars were left to reflect on a performance that never quite took shape. For Dubai Diaries readers following PSL 2026, this was a reminder that Islamabad United remain one of the sides to watch when their bowling unit clicks early.
