Featured players include Melbourne premiership captain Max Gawn, Western Bulldogs star Marcus Bontempelli, GWS GIANTS captain Toby Greene and Gold Coast SUNS leader Touk Miller, with the series also tracking Brisbane Lions figures Dayne Zorko and Cam Rayner during their back to back premiership campaign.

Final Siren also captures a major transition moment for Fremantle, following dual Brownlow medallist Nathan Fyfe as he steps away from a 16 year career at the Dockers.

Prime Video Australia and New Zealand head of originals Sarah Christie says the series is designed to offer a more intimate look at the AFL season, placing fans alongside some of the game’s biggest names as they navigate pressure, identity and life at the top level.

“Final Siren captures the raw passion, personality and drama of Aussie Rules football in ways we have never seen before.”

Executive producer at Box To Box Films Hillary Olsen says the focus of the series extends beyond match results, using a character first approach to explore the human stories behind the game.

“The emotions at the centre of this series are universal, ambition, pressure, identity and the personal cost of competing at the highest level.”

The project continues Prime Video’s long standing collaboration with the AFL, following previous Prime Original documentaries including Making Their Mark, Kick Like Tayla and Warriors On The Field, and sits alongside Australian sports titles such as The Test and The Defenders.

For TV audiences and industry observers, Final Siren adds another Australian sports title to Prime Video’s growing local documentary lineup, following its investment in cricket and basketball content on the platform.
