Poupelle of Chimney Town Releases Official Poster and World Premiere at the 76th Berlin Film Festival

The upcoming anime movie, Poupelle of Chimney Town ~Yakusoku no Tokeidai~, has released its official poster. The movie will premiere in Japan on March 27.

The poster features the main character, Lubicchi, and his new friend, Mofu the outwardly cat, on an adventure to uncover the mysterious clock tower.

Furthermore, it has been announced that the movie has been selected for the Generation section at the 76th Berlin Film Festival. It will be competing with other films in the Generation KPlus for the Crystal Bear Award for the Best Film. The movie will also have a world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival and will screen from February 12 to February 22. 

The Berlin International Film Festival is an annual event held in Berlin, Germany. It is one of the big three film festivals alongside the Venice Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival. The Generation section showcases films that focus on children and young people and compete in the Generation KPlus category or Generation 14plus. Past Japanese films that competed in the film festival included Tekkonkinkreet, Hana & Alice, and My Small Land.

Poupelle of Chimney Town ~Yakusoku no Tokeidai~ is a sequel to the 2020 Poupelle of Chimney Town anime film. It is based on a children’s book, Tick Tock: Yakusoku Tokeidai by Akihiro Nishino.
