Police search for North Shore suspect in string of indecent assaults

Investigators say there were three separate incidents where the suspect inappropriately touched female victims from behind before fleeing.

Revere police are searching for a suspect believed to be responsible for multiple indecent assaults in the Beachmont neighborhood. 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7 with a thin build and short dark hair, according to a statement from the Revere Police Department. In one of the incidents, he was reportedly wearing a black jacket and light-colored jeans. 

Police said three incidents occurred between January and March near the Beachmont MBTA Station. In all three cases, the suspect approached the female victims from behind between around 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. and touched them inappropriately before fleeing the scene. 

The first incident was reported Jan. 13 around 11 p.m. near Winthrop Parkway and Roughan Street. A second incident occurred Feb. 19 around 10 p.m. near the Beachmont station at State Road. The most recent incident was reported March 7 at about 10 p.m. in the same area.  

After canvassing the neighborhood, detectives determined the incidents may be related, police said. 

Police are asking residents to review home surveillance or doorbell camera footage that may assist in the investigation. The department is also urging pedestrians in the Beachmont area to remain alert and aware of their surroundings.

Police also released a video showing the suspect walking away from one of the incidents.
