PM Shehbaz Sharif Announces Huge Individual Cash Reward for U19 Team

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a cash prize of Rs. 10 million (1 crore) for each player of the Pakistan U19 cricket team following their title win at the 2025 Asia Cup.

The premier hosted a luncheon in Islamabad to honor the squad that defeated India in the final. During the ceremony, he congratulated the players and confirmed the individual reward, calling the victory a major achievement for Pakistan cricket.

“You young players have made history by defeating India,” Shehbaz Sharif told the squad, urging them to continue bringing honour to the country. He said the entire nation was proud of their performance and singled out Sameer Munhas and Ali Raza for special mention.

The Prime Minister also extended his best wishes for the upcoming ICC U19 World Cup, stressing that the Asia Cup triumph should be a stepping stone to further success. He praised the role of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, team management, and support staff, saying the convincing win in the final was the result of hard work and discipline.

“By winning the Asia Cup, the team has raised the national flag with pride,” he added.

Separately, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had already announced a Rs. 5 million cash prize for each of the 15 members of the U19 squad after their victory in the final at the ICC Academy, further boosting the players ahead of the World Cup.
