Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has moved to fulfill his earlier promise to overseas Pakistanis by announcing civil awards for 16 expatriates in recognition of their outstanding services and investments in the country.
The awards will be presented during the Pakistan Day ceremony. The federal government said distinguished overseas Pakistanis from around the world will be honored for their contributions and for serving as ambassadors of Pakistan abroad.
Earlier in April 2025, the prime minister had announced that overseas Pakistanis who make significant investments in the country would be recognized with civil awards.
Alongside the awards, the government has introduced a new incentive package for Pakistanis living abroad. The comprehensive package includes special benefits for expatriates and their families.
As part of the newly introduced package, the government will also issue a next-generation membership card for overseas Pakistanis, designed with advanced security features to ensure better protection, verification, and streamlined access to the benefits and privileges included in the program.
The measures are intended to recognize the services of overseas Pakistanis and provide them with dedicated benefits and privileges.
