PM Modi to visit Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman from December 15 to 18 in big Africa and Middle East outreach

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-nation tour to Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman from December 15 to 18, 2025, aiming to deepen India’s engagement with key partners in the Middle East and Africa.

In the first leg of the visit, Prime Minister Modi will travel to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from December 15–16 at the invitation of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein. He will hold a meeting with King Abdullah II to review the entire range of India–Jordan relations and exchange views on regional developments.

The visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries and will offer an opportunity to strengthen bilateral cooperation, explore new avenues of partnership and reaffirm India’s commitment to promoting peace, prosperity, security and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Modi will then proceed to Ethiopia from December 16–17 for a State visit at the invitation of Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali. This will be Modi’s first visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

He and Prime Minister Abiy will engage in wide-ranging discussions covering all aspects of India–Ethiopia relations. As partners in the Global South, both nations will use the visit to reaffirm their shared commitment to advancing close bonds of friendship and expanding bilateral cooperation.
