Sony themselves have done one better than GameStop’s recent oopsie regarding Resident Evil Requiem. A leaked image on the PlayStation Store all but confirms that a series favourite character will be making their return next year when the game launches in February.
Per IGN, those players who purchased the regular digital edition of Resident Evil Requiem through the PlayStation Store and decided to check for preload details were greeted with the updated cover art for the game. That cover art happens to include the game’s protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, along with a weathered-looking Leon S. Kennedy, sporting his leather jacket from Resident Evil 4, lurking in the background.

As mentioned, this leak comes after GameStop apparently leaking information from the Deluxe Edition of Requiem through their store, but unlike this Sony leak, GameStop’s leak veers into the “grain of salt” territory.
This slip-up does potentially spoil any appearance at The Games Awards this Thursday for Requiem, since it would have been the perfect surprise for fans who were speculating on just who would be showing up from the series’ past this time around. Despite the recent leaks, Capcom hasn’t said anything (nor would they at this point), and has kept things close to the chest for now.
Resident Evil Requiem comes to PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27.
