Pippa Middleton awkwardly walks away as TV presenter fails to recognise her

Pippa Middleton was caught in an awkward moment over the weekend when a journalist failed to recognise her during a TV segment.

A clip of Sky Sports F1 pit-lane reporter has gone viral on social media after he unwittingly failed to identify Pippa during coverage ahead of Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The broadcaster was roaming behind the scenes at the season finale, seeking opinions on the championship battle, when he encountered a group that included the Princess of Wales’s sister.

The reporter identified some members of the party but walked past Pippa without any acknowledgement, creating an awkward exchange.

Approaching the group of four, Ted Kravitz correctly named James Matthews as being connected to the Williams team and identified Rebecca Donaldson as Carlos Sainz’s partner.

He then posed his question to the assembled guests: “Max, Lando or Oscar anybody?”

The exchange proved uncomfortable, with Pippa, left unnamed by the reporter, turning away before walking off.

Mr Matthews offered a brief wave in acknowledgement.

The Sky Sports reporter, seemingly unaware of any misstep, remarked that he couldn’t hear any responses and moved on, saying: “OK that’s fine.”

The clip quickly gained traction on TikTok, with one user writing: “Not acknowledging Pippa is frying me. Her sister is the next Queen of England.”

Others expressed similar sentiments, with comments including “I knew I knew that woman from somewhere” and “I was shocked and waiting for the socials to pick it up. Thank you.”

Some viewers pointed out: “He’s paid to talk about F1, not recognise the siblings of the Royal Family.”
