Person shot by police fighting for life in Brisbane hospital

A person has been shot by police in Brisbane’s north.

Emergency services were called to Akebia St in Arana Hills on Wednesday about 10.55am.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said paramedics and a High Acuity Response Unit were called out to a police incident.

Ambulance crews treated a patient with a potentially life-threatening abdominal wound before they were rushed under lights and sirens to Royal Brisbane and Women’s hospital.

The circumstances around the incident are not yet known.

Queensland Police have been contacted for comment.
