PCB to Retain Pakistan White-Ball Captains and Coach

Pakistan’s cricket leadership is reportedly set to remain unchanged despite the team’s disappointing T20 World Cup campaign, as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) opts for continuity rather than another round of shake-ups.

According to sources, the PCB has decided not to replace captains or coaches in any format, saying the board wants to maintain consistency in its policies, unlike past approaches where defeats often led to immediate removals.

Sources said head coach Mike Hesson will continue in charge of the ODI and T20 sides under the terms of his contract. The board has also reportedly given its approval for Salman Ali Agha to continue as T20 captain, while Shaheen Shah Afridi has been backed to lead the ODI team.

The same sources added that, instead of removing leadership after recent losses, the PCB intends to show confidence in its existing set-up. The board is also expected to accept the resignation of selector Aleem Dar, who recently stepped down.

On the red-ball side, sources said the vacancy created after Azhar Mahmood’s resignation as Test head coach will be filled by former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. He is expected to take over responsibilities upon returning from Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, sources said Director High Performance Center Aqib Javed will continue in his role, and the selection committee will also carry on with its duties.
