PCB in Advanced Talks With England’s Players to Join PSL 11

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly pushing to secure English talent for the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11).

The Hyderabad franchise General Manager, Faisal Mirza, stated that discussions are underway on player availability and clearances.

Mirza stated that the PCB has been engaging the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regarding the participation of English cricketers, but emphasized that the final decision will rest with the players themselves.

He further claimed that the ECB is not shutting the door completely and could issue No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) if players are willing and convinced to feature in the league, an update that could reshape how franchises plan their overseas picks ahead of the auction.

The development is notable because earlier reports had suggested that several England players, particularly those tied to red-ball central contracts, may struggle to get clearance for PSL 11 due to the ECB’s scheduling priorities, including the County Championship and preparations for England’s home Test summer. That situation raised concerns about a reduced England player pool for PSL teams.

With Hyderabad now indicating there is room for flexibility through player consent and approvals, franchises may still have a pathway to sign English names, though availability is expected to remain case-by-case rather than guaranteed.
