Pakistan’s Ace Spinner Reportedly Joins New PSL Team

Pakistan’s left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem has reportedly been snapped up by the newly formed Kingsmen Hyderabad ahead of 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), with sources claiming the franchise has signed him in the Diamond category.

If confirmed, the move would mark a fresh chapter for Muqeem in the PSL, one that could significantly raise Kingsmen Hyderabad’s bowling firepower heading into the season.

Muqeem previously featured for Peshawar Zalmi, making his PSL debut in 2023 and playing five matches in that season. His reported switch to Kingsmen Hyderabad signals that the new franchise is looking to build a strong core early, particularly around impact bowlers who can control the middle overs and attack at the death.

Despite being considered one of Pakistan’s most exciting spin options in recent years, Muqeem was not included in Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad, a decision that drew attention given his record.

Muqeem has also been in the spotlight recently due to match-winning spells in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for Rangpur Riders, where his performances helped swing games and reinforced his reputation as a high-impact T20 bowler.

Adding to his rising stock, Derbyshire Falcons have confirmed his signing for the first half of the 2026 Vitality Blast. The move reunites him with head coach Mickey Arthur, who previously worked with him during their stint at Rangpur Riders.

The reported signing comes as momentum builds ahead of the PSL 11 Player Auction, scheduled for February 11. With Kingsmen Hyderabad seemingly making early moves, Muqeem’s addition (if finalized) would be a statement that the new franchise intends to compete from day one.
