Pakistan women’s national football team made a dream start to the FIFA Series 2026 by thrashing the Turks and Caicos Islands 8-0 in Côte d’Ivoire, registering the biggest win in the country’s international football history.
The emphatic result came in Pakistan’s first-ever match at a FIFA event and surpassed their previous biggest international victory, a 7-0 win over the Maldives in September 2022.
Pakistan dominated from start to finish and showed no signs of nerves despite the historic occasion. The team found the net eight times in a statement performance that underlined both their attacking quality and growing confidence on the international stage.
Zahmena Malik, Mariam Mahmood, Nadia Khan, and Isra Khan all got on the scoresheet, while Aqsa Mushtaq and Layla Banaras bagged two goals each to complete the rout.
The result gives Pakistan a perfect start to the tournament and strengthens belief within the squad after heading into the event with hopes of making a serious impact.
It also marks one of the most significant nights for Pakistan women’s football, with the team not only securing victory in their debut FIFA outing but doing so in record-breaking fashion.
Pakistan had entered the tournament aiming to make the most of a rare opportunity at international level, and the opening result could hardly have been more convincing.
Pakistan’s next fixture is against Mauritania on April 12, and then later against hosts Côte d’Ivoire on April 16.
