Pakistan Navy commissioned PNS Khaibar, its second MILGEM-class ship, during a ceremony at Istanbul Naval Shipyard in Türkiye. DGPR Navy said in a statement.
Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended as the chief guest. Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, also joined the ceremony.
During his remarks, President Erdoğan highlighted the strength of Pakistan-Türkiye relations. He also pointed to future defence cooperation between the two countries, DGPR Navy reported.
Meanwhile, Admiral Naveed Ashraf praised ASFAT and its partner organizations for their work on the PN MILGEM program, it reported.
With PNS Khaibar now commissioned, Türkiye has completed construction of two MILGEM ships for Pakistan. DGPR Navy reported that the remaining two ships are under construction in Pakistan.
