Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram has expressed deep concern over the health of former skipper Imran Khan, describing the news as “heartbreaking.”
In a public statement, Akram said it was painful to hear that Imran Khan is going through health issues and urged authorities to ensure he receives the best possible medical care.
“It is heartbreaking to hear our skipper, Imran Khan, going through health issues. I sincerely hope the authorities take this seriously and ensure he receives the best possible medical care,” Akram said.
Wasim Akram also extended his wishes for strength, a speedy recovery, and a full return to good health.
The bond between the two cricket legends goes back decades. Imran Khan played a key role in mentoring Waseem Akram during the early years of his international career.
Under Khan’s leadership, Akram developed into one of the world’s most feared fast bowlers. Both were central figures in Pakistan’s historic 1992 Cricket World Cup victory, where Khan captained the side and Akram delivered match-winning performances in the final.
Imran Khan is widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s greatest cricketers. He led the national team to its historic victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup and played a key role in shaping Pakistan’s fast-bowling legacy.
As an all-rounder, Khan represented Pakistan in 88 Test matches and 175 One-Day Internationals, earning global recognition for his leadership and competitive spirit.
