Pakistan Extends Unbeaten Streak at SAFF Women’s Futsal

Pakistan’s women’s futsal team maintained their unbeaten run at the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship 2026 with a 3-1 victory over Maldives, sealing their second successive win in the tournament.

The result further strengthened Pakistan’s position at the top of the standings. After opening their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bhutan, Pakistan bounced back with a landmark 3-2 win over Sri Lanka on January 15 in Bangkok, Thailand—a match highlighted by Azwa Chaudhry’s hat-trick, which delivered Pakistan their first-ever victory in the SAFF Women’s Futsal Championship.

With the latest win over Maldives, Pakistan remain unbeaten and lead the table with seven points, while India sit second with six.

Pakistan’s next fixture is a high-stakes clash against India on January 19, scheduled for 6:00 PM, in what is expected to be a crucial match in the race for the top spot.

The team will then meet Nepal on January 21 before concluding their group fixtures against Bangladesh on January 23.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s men’s futsal team registered a landmark result at the SAFF Men’s Futsal Championship 2026, beating Bhutan 4–2 after a dramatic comeback at Nonthaburi Stadium.

Pakistan went into halftime 2–0 down, but turned the match around with a dominant second-half display, scoring four unanswered goals to seal the win.

The victory was particularly significant as it marked Pakistan’s first-ever international win in a SAFF futsal event, coming just a game after they suffered a 7–1 defeat to Maldives in their opener.
