Oscar nominations 2026 full list: Sinners breaks 75-year-old, Wicked 2 completely shut out

Sinners broke a 75-year-old record by becoming the most nominated film in Oscars history.

The Ryan Coogler-directed film nabbed 16 nominations, besting the previous total of 14 nods set by All About Eve in 1951, which was equalled by Titanic and La La Land.

Sinners was nominated for best picture, best director, three acting nods for Michael B. Jordan, Delroy Lindo and Wunmi Mosaku, as well as across a raft of craft categories.

One Battle After Another was the second most nominated film with 13 nods, while Sentimental Value, Marty Supreme and Frankenstein each nabbed nine mentions. Hamnet was nominated for eight awards.

Timothee Chalamet remains the leading contender in the best actor race, and if he wins, he’ll become the second youngest person in his category of best actor.

Australian Rose Byrne, who was tipped to score her first Oscar nomination, came up good, landing a nod for her leading role in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, as did Jacob Elordi in the supporting actor race for Frankenstein.

Nick Cave also scored his first Oscar nomination, in original song for Train Dreams.

Emma Stone, nominated for Bugonia, became the youngest woman to get to seven Oscar nominations. She now has five acting nominations (she’s won two) and two producing nods. At 37 years old, she beat the previous record held by Meryl Streep, who was 38 when she hit the same mark.

There were some surprises, which included a screenplay nod for Frankenstein, an underwhelming haul for Cannes-winning Iranian film It Was Just an Accident, which managed only two nominations, Paul Mescal missing out for Hamnet, and the complete shut-out of Wicked: For Good.

The previous Wicked movie was nominated for 10 Oscars last year, winning two, and while the sequel was not as well received either critically or commercially, it was still expected to show up on the nominations list, including for Ariana Grande and in original song.
