‘No mould, no mildew’: Could this be the world’s healthiest house?

‘No mould, no mildew’: Could this be the world’s healthiest house?

Could a house actually make you healthier? That is the intention behind the newly built Casa Terra in Sunshine Beach.

Designed and built by Luke Williams from the Williams Group, the beachside home is currently listed for sale by Casey Languillon and Georgia Scharer from Harcourts Property Centre.

Ms Languillon said while the interiors are undoubtedly beautiful, where the home really shines is in the build itself.

“The build is very purposeful for our climate,” she said. “The concrete and the render actually works like a porous stone, so it sucks the humidity out of the air and pushes it back through the walls as clean air.

“So you get no mould, no moisture, no mildew.”

Despite the humidity of the area, Ms Languillon said that when you walk through the house it’s dry.

“In our area, we get so sick because of the mould, the mildew, the humidity, the moisture, so it’s beautiful, but it’s actually purposeful.

“It’s been done for a reason.”

Ms Languillon said the house has no plasterboard or paint, just natural stone, with the limestone render acting as “almost a living, breathing wall.”

“When you walk in that house, it’s like you can breathe for the first time.”

The home was purpose-built by the current owners, who are only selling due to a change in circumstances.

“It wasn’t built to be sold, but their circumstances have changed and they’ve got an opportunity overseas,” Ms Languillon said.

As well as the incredible air quality, the five-bedroom home also features a complete wellness centre that includes a home gym, sauna, cold plunge and steam room.

For buyers keen on fitness there’s also a pickleball court and heated magnesium pool.

Set over two floors, the property is almost separated into two houses.

On the first floor are three bedrooms, three en suites, a kitchen, living and lounge room, and on the ground floor are an additional two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchen and living room.

One of Ms Languillon’s favourite aspects of the home is the amount of light that filters in throughout the day.

“It’s like a gallery of light,” she said. “You’ve got a skylight in the centre of the stairwell where the light comes in on an angle and then it changes throughout the day.

“It’s like a sundial, it’s beautiful.”

Unsurprisingly, since the home was listed it has attracted a lot of attention from locals.

“We get so many sticky beaks,” Ms Languillon said.

Located only moments from Noosa’s beautiful beaches, national parks, popular restaurants, shops and cafes, it’s no wonder Ms Languillon described the home as feeling like a “boutique hotel”.

With features like exceptional air quality, great wellness facilities and beautiful design, it quite simply is, Ms Languillon puts it, “a house that ticks every box”.

6 Nebula Street, Sunshine Beach is currently listed for sale by Casey Languillon & Georgia Scharer from Harcourts Property Centre. The property is being sold via private sale.
