The city police has announced restrictions on entry to Chamundi Hills after 7 p.m. on December 31.
While the entry to Chamundi Hills will not be allowed from Uttanahalli Gate, Devivana Gate, Chamundi Hill steps and Lalitha Mahal Gate after 7 p.m., entry through the Tavarekatte Gate will also be restricted after 8 p.m.
Carrying food, liquor bottles or other intoxicating substances to Chamundi Hills has also been strictly prohibited, said a statement issued by the Mysuru city police.
Instructing the public to vacate Chamundi Hills by 9 p.m., the police said the public returning after 9 p.m. must exit only through Tavarekatte Gate.
The restrictions, however, do not apply to residents of Chamundi Hills, the statement said.
