New PSL Team Stadium Set to Undergo Major Transformation

Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot is expected to undergo a major upgrade after the city secured its own Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, with renovation work likely to be taken up on a priority basis as preparations begin for the league’s expansion.

The development follows the award of PSL’s eighth team to OZ Developers, which won the rights to the Sialkot franchise after placing a bid of Rs. 185 crore, above the reserve price of Rs. 170 crore.

With Sialkot now confirmed as one of the PSL’s new host cities alongside Hyderabad, attention has shifted to improving facilities to meet the requirements of a top-tier T20 tournament.

Alongside stadium upgrades, the franchise owners have begun laying the groundwork for the team’s identity.

Speaking after securing the franchise, the owner of OZ Developers said the group will hire professional branding experts to finalise the team name, logo, and overall look, rather than making those decisions internally.

The stated goal is to craft a brand that reflects Sialkot’s deep cricketing roots while matching the PSL’s modern image.

League officials have already confirmed that more details, including the official franchise name and branding launch, will be announced later as planning continues for the upcoming PSL season.
