A brand new Airbnb in Middleton is offering horse owners the chance to holiday with their horse, while still enjoying a stylish and comfortable coastal escape.
Set on a 12-acre property just minutes from the town centre is Bridle & Bay, a space created as a peaceful retreat that caters to horse owners, while also remaining open for anyone seeking a slower pace closer to the sea.
The three-bedroom home is within easy reach of cafes and beaches, with long coastal walks nearby, but still feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of other visitors and locals. Inside, the house has been designed and styled with comfort in mind, featuring an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with garden views from each window.
Airbnb manager Adrienne Galloway said the venue was created specifically for horse owners wanting to holiday without the hassle of finding a horse sitter.
“It’s designed as a boutique stay where horses are part of the holiday, not left behind,” she said. “The venue is ideal for horse owners who may not even want to ride during their stay but want their horse safely nearby while they relax.”
The property offers secure paddocks with shelter and day yards, with easy access for horse floats. One of the standout opportunities is the coastal riding along Goolwa Beach, just 8 kilometres away; a rare experience on one of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s most spectacular stretches of sand.
“Beach riding is permitted via a free permit and offers unforgettable sunrise and sunset experiences, with designated float parking nearby,” Adrienne said.
Accommodation includes a master bedroom with a queen bed, ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, a second queen bedroom, and a third bedroom with two king single beds, making the space ideal for groups of up to six.
The lounge looks out to the cottage garden, where blue wrens can often be seen darting between the plants. The front lawn is fully fenced and offers a safe, open space for children to play or for guests to enjoy the sunshine.
Adding to the sense of retreat is the float tank experience, included in the stay and available to all adult guests. Designed for deep relaxation, the float tank offers a quiet, sensory-reduced experience, offering the perfect way to unwind after a day at the beach or in the saddle.
With its blend of country charm and coastal access, Bridle & Bay Middleton is a unique option for a holiday on the Fleurieu Peninsula, particularly for horse owners seeking a getaway with their pet, not without them.
“Don’t forget, we also welcome families and non-horse guests seeking a peaceful coastal escape on the Fleurieu Peninsula,” Adrienne said.
“Due to delays in completing internal renovations, the property has only recently launched on Airbnb, with the 2026 calendar now open and available for bookings.”
