My Heart Is My Home

My Heart Is My Home

My heart is my home

I return wherever I may roam

A place of refuge from a world of woe

Embrace me never let me go

Abandoned I will never be alone

My heart is my home

Feelings can sometimes overcome

Out of your control you feel numb

The actions of others can overload

And derail you on your life’s road

Is your cup half full or half empty

You will question your sanity plenty

You live always in your swirling head

Wake up and smell the coffee enough said

My heart is my home

When time are hard and tough

Sanctuary it gives me sure enough

It doesn’t judge or chide me

A space of solitude where I can be

No judgement but I can quietly atone

My heart is my home

Your life is like a runaway train

Hurtling down the tracks in pain

A one way ticket to salvation you hope

In this crazy world it’s hard to cope

You are heading in the wrong direction

Outside in the wastelands you won’t find  affection

The answer you seek is within

Accept and behold peace it will bring

My heart is my home

I return wherever I may roam

A place of refuge from a world of woe

Embrace me never let me go

Abandoned I will never be alone

My heart is my home
