This Australia Day long weekend, a colourful celebration of culture, community and connection will take over Adelaide’s northern suburbs, with the Australia Day Multinational Party set to bring together communities from across the globe for one joyful night.
Running on Saturday 24 January, the event celebrates Australia’s multicultural identity, with international communities including Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Iran, Africa and the Philippines coming together under one roof. Guests can expect a lively, welcoming atmosphere packed with entertainment, food and shared stories — a reflection of the many cultures that now call Australia home.
The night promises a jam-packed program of live bands, singers and DJs, along with raffles and door prizes to keep the energy high well into the evening. It’s designed as an open, inclusive celebration where people from all backgrounds are encouraged to come together, connect and enjoy the experience side by side.
MC and marriage celebrant Troy Mansfield says the event is about embracing the values that unite Australians. “It’s about openness, acceptance, brotherhood and community,” he says. Troy has a personal connection to the night, having been welcomed into the Thai and Laotian communities when he married his wife, and he now regularly officiates weddings for couples from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
“I have been privileged to marry couples from the Thai, Laotian, Iranian and Australian communities, and these couples will be there on the night sharing their individual cultures and a love of Australia,” Troy says. “It is an opportunity for people to come to an open event to experience multiculturalism. Everyone is welcome.”
Food will play a central role in the celebrations, with mouth-watering Thai dishes served up by TP Thai Kitchen, one of the event’s hosts alongside Ausphil Production. A licensed bar will also be operating throughout the night, offering ice-cold beers and soft drinks — perfect for enjoying the entertainment as the sun sets.
Beyond the music and food, the event also carries a strong community focus. A portion of the proceeds from the night will be donated to the Cancer Council, supporting vital work in cancer research, prevention, advocacy and patient support.
“This night brings people together through food, music and culture, and it also stands quietly against hate and division, including antisemitism,” Troy says. “Sitting side by side reminds us that difference is not a threat — it is a strength.”
