Football, fine wine, and First Nations excellence are set to collide in one of Gather Round’s most exciting pop-ups, with The Munda Wine Bar landing in the heart of the city this April.
Running from 9 to 12 April beneath the Adelaide Festival Centre underpass, just steps from the footbridge to Adelaide Oval, the four-day experience is bringing together some of the country’s most exciting First Nations-owned drinks brands for a celebration of culture, sport, and seriously good pours.
At the centre of it all is Munda Wines, Australia’s premier 100% Aboriginal-owned wine company, which has curated a standout lineup featuring award-winning wines from South Australia and beyond, alongside cocktails, spirits, and seltzers from fellow First Nations producers.
Expect a lively pre- and post-game atmosphere, with great tunes, finger food, and even a few appearances from AFL royalty across the weekend.
The collaboration brings together three standout businesses with deep ties to both football and culture. Seven Seasons Spirits, founded by AFL greats Daniel and Steven Motlop, will be pouring a range of premium spirits inspired by the seven seasons of the Larrakia people, including their internationally acclaimed Green Ant Gin.
Joining them is Gangurru Seltzers, created by SA footballer Rigby Barnes, offering vibrant, native-inspired flavours like Native Lime and Strawberry, and River Mint and Watermelon.
Together, the trio creates a unique drinks experience that blends storytelling, culture, and craftsmanship, all set against the electric backdrop of AFL Gather Round.
Munda Wines founder Pauly Vandenbergh says the activation is a natural fit for the city’s biggest footy weekend. “It’s been a huge year for Munda Wines so far, but this is next level. A premium wine bar, bringing Munda Wines from across the country to Adelaide for Gather Round, alongside drinks by absolute footy legends like Daniel Motlop and Rigby Barnes – what could be better? Gather Round is a genuine celebration of AFL here in Adelaide and we can’t wait to be a part of it. If you’re heading into Adelaide for a game, add an extra hour to your planning and drop by for a glass of wine, or a G&T – it’s the place to be!”
The pop-up comes off the back of major momentum for Munda Wines, including selection in the Qantas International First and Business Class wine program, and recognition as the inaugural First Nations Exporter of the Year.
Whether you’re heading to the footy or just soaking up the city atmosphere, this is shaping up as one of Gather Round’s must-visit stops.
