Nearly a dozen homes have been destroyed as more than 50 bushfires tear across New South Wales amid record-breaking heat and dangerous winds.
Six homes have been engulfed by flames in Koolewong on the Central Coast and four more in Bulahdelah on the mid-North Coast.
On the Central Coast, an emergency warning remains in place for the Nimbin Road area at Koolewong, where a fast-moving blaze is surging south behind Glenrock Parade towards Lara Street.

“If you are in the area of Nimbin Road, Glenrock Parade, Lara St and Nimala Ave, you are at risk. Leave now if the path is clear towards Woy Woy,” a NSW RFS warning reads.
Authorities warn that the fire is moving quickly and could impact properties with little notice.
“Embers will be blown long distances ahead of the main fire front starting spot fires, these may impact your home earlier than the main fire front,” the alert continues.

Trains have also come to a halt between Gosford and the Hawkesbury River on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line due to a fire near the tracks at Koolewong.
Limited buses will replace trains between Hornsby and Gosford. Replacement buses will not stop at Point Clare, Koolewong or Tascott, NSW TrainLink North has warned.
Brisbane Water Drive between Woy Woy and Tascott is also closed.
