Mrunal Thakur has been out and about for the promotions of a newly-released rom-com, Do Deewane Seher Mein. For one of her recent outings with co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi, she picked an outfit that seems to usher in an early spring. The actor was spotted in a floral anarkali by Ri By Ritu Kumar in a serene salmon pink shade.
The salmon pink anarkali features a delicate floral jaal rendered through digital printing. Cut with Chanderi silk fabric, the full-sleeved kurta is designed with a fitted yoke that opens into a generous flare that’s composed of alternating kalis in varied floral prints. Each kali is edged with intricate aari work, adding texture and definition to the billowing silhouette. The V-neckline yoke, sleeves and bodice are accented with hand-embroidery, sequins and aari work tracing the striking bloom motifs. The set is paired with a classic churidar that streamlines the volume of the kurta, and overlayed is an organza dupatta scattered with fine golden dots and edged with lace.

What makes the actor’s ensemble compelling is its versatility. Starting with the wispy textile, which is often touted as “bunni hui hawa” or handwoven air by master weavers. Chanderi silk’s subtle inherent shimmer and breathable construction make it the perfect pick for the often muggy Indian weather. You can sport it at daytime outings just as you can for intimate wedding events. The salmon pink shade, too, flatters across seasons and occasions.
