A pre-release trailer for Assassination Classroom: Minna no Jikan has dropped ahead of the anime film’s March 20 (JST) Japanese theatrical debut. The nearly two-minute video presents the colorful lives of Class 3-E and their tentacled teacher, set to the insert song “Machinegun to Rashinban.”
“Machinegun to Rashinban” is performed by the characters Nagisa Shiota (Mai Fuchigami), Kaede Kayano (Aya Suzaki), Karma Akabane (Nobuhiko Okamoto), Yuma Isogai (Ryota Osaka), and Hiroto Maehara (Shintaro Asamura).
Assassination Classroom: Minna no Jikan is the third and last of the Assassination Classroom anime’s 10th anniversary projects. The previously released main trailer teased that the movie will feature “the daily life of Class 3-E you didn’t know of.”
The 22-episode first season of Assassination Classroom began airing in 2015, and was followed by the 25-episode second season in 2016. The anime is based on a manga by Yusei Matsui. Viz Media describes the manga’s synopsis as such:
Meet the would-be assassins of class 3-E: Sugino, who let his grades slip and got kicked off the baseball team. Karma, who’s doing well in his classes but keeps getting suspended for fighting. And Okuda, who lacks both academic and social skills, yet excels at one subject: chemistry. Who has the best chance of winning that reward? Will the deed be accomplished through pity, brute force or poison…? And what chance does their teacher have of repairing his students’ tattered self-esteem?
The Assassination Classroom manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016. It has also inspired a live-action film.
