Renovations are well and truly underway at Elizabeth Downs’ Midway Tavern, with exciting additions coming that’ll make the hotel even further cemented into the heart of the community.
These new renovations are happening just two years after the large overhaul of the hotel that made it feel warm, welcoming and light. The renovations in 2024 gave patrons new seating, a fresh atmosphere, and an updated salad bar and hot veg.
Received by much community praise, the newest renovations at the Midway Tavern will include an extension to the bistro and a kids’ playground.
The expansion of the bistro will create more space for locals to dine and unwind. The extension will enhance the venue’s dining experience by offering more seating for patrons and, in turn, creating a better space. The Midway Tavern will also maintain the relaxed, community-focused atmosphere that the tavern is known for. Once complete, the revamped bistro is expected to cater to the growing demand and continue its legacy at one of the places to visit.
Alongside the bistro extension, it’s the kids’ playground that has people talking. The new playground has been called a huge draw card by people in the community, and others say their kids will definitely use it once it is built. The playground will add a fun, family-friendly element to the hotel, and kids will have something to do while parents chat.
The playground and bistro extension are expected to be completed by the end of May, though the final timeline may still change.
