Minister for Water Resources Nimmala Ramanaidu on Friday (January 30) said that competent and dedicated employees always held an esteemed position in society and deserve due recognition.
He was attending the retirement ceremony of Engineer-in-Chief (EnC) Admin. Shyam Prasad and Deputy ENC Veer Pratap at Vijayawada Jalasoudha, extending his personal congratulations and felicitating both engineers with shawls in appreciation of their services.
The Minister praised Mr. Shyam Prasad for his invaluable contributions to the Nagarjuna Sagar Right Canal Water Management and Veligonda Project. In line with the government’s vision, Mr. Shyam Prasad had meticulously planned the completion of tunnel benching, lining and feeder canal works by June. The Minister noted that his services will always be remembered by the farmers of Prakasam district and across the canal command area, he said.
Similarly, the Minister acknowledged the service of the Deputy EnC, appreciating his dedication and professionalism. He emphasised that although the simultaneous retirement of two senior engineers leaves a gap in the Irrigation Department, he wished them a happy and peaceful post-retirement life, recognising their long-standing contributions to the State’s water resources development.
