On Tuesday, Prince William got a sweet surprise while visiting the new offices of Centrepoint, a charitable organization working to end youth homelessness, in honor of his 20th anniversary as its patron.
“William is a huge chocolate fan, so I slipped a chocolate biscuit tier into the cake, as I know it’s one of his favorites,” royal baker Juliet Sear, who baked the cake and is also an ambassador for Centrepoint, said of “the complete surprise.”
William famously has a sweet tooth and received the cake while visiting Centrepoint’s new offices in London. It is his oldest patronage, he inherited the charity from his late mother Princess Diana, who became patron in 1992.
During the visit, William met with Centrepoint staff and young people who have benefitted from the organization’s work. He was shown the charity’s new Wall of Hope mural, created by artist Lanre Olagoke MBE to celebrate Centrepiece’s journey.

William has pledged to end homelessness through his Homewards program, a five-year initiative he launched in 2023 via the Royal Foundation to show that homelessness can be made “rare, brief and unrepeated.”
“I wanted to make something special just to thank him for the tireless work he has done to support the charity and his attempt to end homelessness in the UK,” said Sear, who has created many cakes for the royal family, including one for Prince Harry’s 30th birthday.
