Super Bowl Sunday features a little something for everyone, even the animal lovers.
The Puppy Bowl returns for its 22nd year with more than 150 dogs from 72 shelters playing for either Team Ruff or Team Fluff.
Duke Snugglebug, Lobster Roll, Teigan, and others are among the 13 local dogs participating in the longest running call-to-adoption television event.
Lobster Roll, a bulldog and border collie mixed breed from Animal Rescue League of Greater Portland in Westbrook, Maine “with a big presence and serious motivation,” is part of the starting lineup, according to Discovery.
“She plays with purpose and isn’t afraid to take charge when the game is on the line,” her Puppy Bowl profile noted.
Lobster Roll, who is a member of Team Ruff, made it to the final four in the “Pupularity Playoffs,” falling just short of making the finals, according to her Maine rescue.
“A champion in our hearts, Lobster Roll just barely didn’t make it to the Pupularity Playoff finals last night,” the ARLGP shared Jan. 29. “Voting closed at a 50%-50% tie, meaning the final margin against RuPaw was less than 0.1%. Sashay away, queen Lobster Roll.”

Note: All 13 pups have found their furever homes, but the rescues they came from continue to have other dogs available for adoption.
