The MARRIAGETOXIN TV anime has revealed a new trailer, featuring more action and some moments between lead pair Hikaru Gero and Mei Kinosaki. It also previews the newly announced ending song “Shake Na Baby” by AKASAKI.
The anime, about an assassin forced to hunt for a bride and the marriage swindler who helps him, will begin airing on April 7 (JST). It’s based on the manga written by Joumyakyu and drawn by Mizuki Yoda. Motonobu Hori (Metallic Rouge, Super Crooks, Carole & Tuesday) is directing at Bones Film.
The MARRIAGETOXIN manga began in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump + in 2022 and has 16 volumes as of January 2026. It placed 8th in the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2022’s web category. Manga Plus and Viz Media have it in English, with the former’s synopsis being:
A hitman and a marriage swindler set out on the world’s most grueling battle for marriage! Gero is a young man from a clan of hitmen, which has been in existence for hundreds of years. As someone who’s never gone to school and lived his life dealing in the dark side of the business, he considers himself to have “no prospects with women” and marriage as “something not for him.” However, one day, in fear that their lineage would dissolve, his clan warns Gero that if he doesn’t marry and produce an heir, they would have no choice but to…force his little sister into doing “that.” Driven to his wits’ end, Gero asks the target of his work, a marriage swindler, to marry him?! With the swindler as his advisor, the hitman’s pursuit of the perfect marriage begins. Get ready for the world’s most intense, action-packed matchmaking battle!
