Man United star spotted gesturing angrily towards fans after points dropped in Wolves draw

Matheus Cunha was captured making angry gestures towards Manchester United supporters as tensions boiled over following Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with bottom-of-the-table Wolves at Old Trafford.

The home faithful jeered the players as they made their way off the pitch, with footage revealing fans hurling abuse at the squad.

Supporters could be heard branding the team “s**t” whilst loud boos rang around the stadium.

Cunha, playing against his former employers, responded by gesturing back at the crowd.

One fan was heard describing the Brazilian as getting “aggy” in reaction to his behaviour.

The forward’s frustration persisted as he passed the corner flag, continuing to gesture towards supporters before disappearing into the tunnel.

The evening proved particularly frustrating for Cunha, who had arrived at Old Trafford in a £62.5million summer transfer from the Midlands club.

His form at Molineux last season had been exceptional, netting 17 times and registering six assists across 36 appearances for Wolves.

However, the Brazilian international has struggled to replicate that output since his big-money switch.

In 17 matches for the Red Devils this campaign, Cunha has managed just three goals and a single assist.

While glimpses of his talent have emerged at times, the 26-year-old’s overall contribution has fallen well short of the standards that prompted United to invest so heavily in his services.

The result brought an end to Wolves’ wretched run of 11 consecutive defeats, securing just their third point of the Premier League season.

Rob Edwards’ side had not picked up a point since early October, with their only previous returns coming from draws against Tottenham and Brighton.

Ladislav Krejci’s equaliser cancelled out Joshua Zirkzee’s deflected opener, with the visitors threatening to claim a shock victory at the Theatre of Dreams.

Despite sitting rock bottom and 15 points adrift of safety, Wolves’ point represented a significant blow to United’s ambitions.

Amorim’s men remain sixth, just two points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, yet their home form continues to frustrate.

A 1-0 defeat to ten-man Everton last month preceded draws against West Ham and Bournemouth, before a victory over Newcastle briefly suggested improvement.

Amorim addressed the mounting pressure on his squad following the disappointing result.

“If you play for Manchester United, it doesn’t matter who is playing or who is on the bench and who is out. You have to perform and win, that is the pressure we have,” the Portuguese manager stated.

He acknowledged his side’s difficulties in key moments throughout matches.

“When we scored, we could not manage not to suffer in the last play of the first half – today and in other days. That moment and those details are costing us a lot of points,” Amorim added.

United will look to respond when they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds on Saturday.
