When confronted by 7NEWS, Frengos denied firing arrows at the school or trying to hurt children.
Asked why he had bows and arrows, he replied: “That’s my business.”
Police have charged him with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, alleging he repeatedly shot “sporadic volleys” into Glenroy Specialist School for months.
The school caters to students with physical disabilities and complex health needs.
Holes can be seen pierced into metal fencing at the school, which sits directly opposite Frengos’ home on Trevannion St.

Leah West, who worked at the school for seven years until three years ago, said teachers were “mortified” by the arrest.
“It’s insanity. Who even has that in their home?” West said. “When the police walked out with it, it’s as tall as I am. Like, it is huge.”
She expressed concern about the safety risks to both students and staff, particularly during fire drills when people gather in the main car park area.
“There’s a lot of holes. How long was he standing there? How long could that have gone on before someone potentially could have got hit?” West said.
A neighbour described Frengos as friendly, saying she had never seen him with weapons and that “he just sits alone and does his own thing.”

When approached for comment, Frengos’ mother deflected questions to police, saying “I don’t know” when asked about the weapons.
Victoria Police said no one was injured by the sporadic volleys and they were not targeted at any particular individual. The incidents allegedly occurred since August.
Frengos has been charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, discharging a missile, and wilful damage. He has been bailed to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on April 15 2026.
The Education Department said it appreciated “the effective work by Victoria Police who acted swiftly and made an arrest”.
