The main trailer and a new cast member have been unveiled for the upcoming second season of the Little Shark’s Day Out anime series, which will air on Japanese television on April 12, 2026. The anime will also stream on YouTube on the same day.
The new cast member added for season two is voice actress Karin Takahashi as Kitsune-chan.

She joins an anime voice cast that stars Kana Hanazawa as Kozame-chan, Megumi Han as Anko-chan, and Misaki Kuno as Usame-chan.
Chihiro Kumano (The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei) is directing the second season, with Hiroaki Nagashima (returning from season one and Eiga Odekake Kozame Tokai no Otomodachi) as scriptwriter, and Ayumi Takeuchi as character designer. ENGI is handling the animation production.
The first season was released from August 2023 to May 2024. The series also inspired an anime film titled Eiga Odekake Kozame Tokai no Otomodachi that was released in Japanese theaters on August 22, 2025.
Penguin Box’s original manga series (also known in Japan as Odekake Kozame) was first released as a web comic on Twitter/X in June 2021. It was later published in Enterbrain’s Aokishi magazine on October 20, 2021 under the Kitora imprint. Seven tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of July 2025.

Little Shark’s Day Out follows the everyday adventures of the titular shark character named Kozame-chan.
