Lindeman Island Is Making A Comeback With A Multi-Million Dollar Redevelopment

When the turquoise waters and beautiful beaches of the Whitsundays call your name, you’ll soon have a new landing place in Lindeman Island Resort—a revitalisation of the iconic destination set to open in the coming year.

As one of the earliest Whitsunday islands to offer accommodation back in the 1920s, before hitting its heyday in the 80s and 90s with Australia’s first Club Med, Lindeman Island was once a favourite for holidaygoers and will be returned to its former glory in partnership with Singapore-based investment company Well Smart Group and Asia-Pacific hotel management company La Vie Hotels & Resorts. It’s been a long time coming, with the former Club Med site having closed back in 2011 and now slated for a multi-million-dollar transformation—breathing new life into the island.

Lindeman Island Resort will feature a five-star hotel with approximately 200 accommodation rooms and nine suites, as well as multiple restaurants and bars, a swimming pool, and a luxury spa and gym. There will also be conference and event spaces (hello, weddings), as well as a new 50-metre jetty to welcome you to paradise.

The redevelopment will embrace modern luxury and sustainability throughout, with eco-friendly infrastructure like a solar farm. The aim? To turn Lindeman Island Resort into a beacon for eco-luxury travel.
