The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to temporarily recruit 10,000 teachers for schools across the province, with a monthly salary of up to Rs. 25,000, according to details shared from a provincial cabinet decision.
Under the plan, 5,845 teachers will be hired for the settled districts, while 4,229 posts will be filled in the merged tribal districts.
The hiring will be time-bound and vary by region: in plain areas, temporary appointments will run from January 16 to May 31, while in hilly regions, the contracts will be from March 1 to June 30.
The government has also outlined hiring authority by school level. Recruitment for primary schools will be handled by the SDO, while middle school appointments will be made by the DDEO. For high and higher secondary schools, the hiring authority will rest with the DEO.
To ensure oversight, the Parent-Teacher Council will monitor the recruitment process.
