Karachi Kings Captain Charged With Drunk Driving

Karachi Kings captain David Warner has reportedly been charged with drink driving in Sydney after police said he was caught driving above the legal alcohol limit during a roadside operation.

According to Australian media reports, the incident took place on Sunday evening in Maroubra, where police were conducting stationary random breath testing.

Authorities said the 39-year-old cricketer allegedly stopped and parked his vehicle before reaching the testing point. Police officers then approached him and carried out a roadside breath test, which reportedly returned a positive result.

He was subsequently taken to Maroubra Police Station, where a second test allegedly recorded a reading of 0.104, placing him in the middle-range prescribed concentration of alcohol category under local law.

Police said David Warner has been issued a Field Court Attendance Notice and is due to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court on May 7, 2026.

The Australian batter was in his home country during a short break from the ongoing 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), with Karachi Kings not scheduled to play again until April 9.

There has been no immediate public response from Warner or Karachi Kings following the reports.
